Poetry in the early Tang Dynasty is mainly composed of five words. After all, it is the mainstream of poetry since Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties. Although the seven words appeared very early, they have not been taken seriously and are considered as "small but vulgar". It was not until the early Tang Dynasty that Le Hu entered the Central Plains on a large scale. With the great development of chorus, seven-character poems began to be valued.
Wang Changling, Wang Zhihuan and Li Bai are the important pioneers of seven-character quatrains.
Wang Changling's conceited "seven unique poems" account for about a quarter of all his works. There were more than 400 four wonders in the prosperous Tang Dynasty, of which Wang Changling alone contributed more than 70, nearly one sixth. Carry the corner of the seven wonders of the prosperous Tang Dynasty with one hand.
Wang Changling raised the theme, use and realm of the four wonders to a very high level. He made a lot of attempts on the style, writing style, structure and expression of the Four Musts, which were extended by later generations and basically did not surpass them.
It is his efforts and those of poets such as Li Bai that make the Seven Wonders the most popular and tasteful Tang poems.
The first four-line poem in the Tang Dynasty, also known as the masterpiece of the four-line poem, is Wang Changling's Bunker:
It is still the moon and border pass in Qin and Han dynasties, and the enemy has fought a protracted war.
If Wei Qing, who attacked Longcheng, and Li Guang, the flying general, were alive today, the Huns would not be allowed to go south to spend their horses in Yinshan.
