I thought it was easy to find a poem suitable for this theme, but my assumption was wrong. I spent the whole weekend reading a long list of China's poems, but it didn't attract my attention. But just when I was about to lose all hope, I decided to take a look at the last poem.
Wang Zhihuan's poem "On the Stork Tower" impressed me like a bolt from the blue. The content is as follows:
"The sun on the other side of the mountain is shining;
The Yellow River flows to the sea.
You can enjoy more spectacular scenery,
By climbing to higher heights. "
This poem is meaningful. I hope to carve this poem on my tombstone after I die. This sentence seems to describe my ambition and why I am still firmly an optimist.
I have suffered many challenges and often feel depressed. I think giving up is the best choice. But usually, I start arguing with myself. Unless there is a really good reason for me to give up, I will continue to do what I am doing, even if I keep making mistakes and failing.
My wife, Zhou Yawei, is a native of China. She likes to make fun of my eternal optimism. I will encounter difficulties in a special project that I love very much. I will be depressed for a while, and finally I will cheer up and say, "I want to be ambitious."
Soon, a new project attracted my heart. Sometimes I will succeed, but more often-the project is not as successful as expected. However, adversity will not hinder my optimism, nor will it hinder my "unrealistic grand vision" as some people say.
For a long time, I didn't understand why I had to stick to it even though life was hard. Why should I keep this motivation to work hard and pursue impossible dreams? It doesn't make any sense.
But this poem explains. I will recall the days when I climbed the mountain. The higher you climb, the better your view, but usually it's not easy. You can't give up halfway, not even nine out of nine. You either climb to the top of the mountain or waste your time.
But as long as you are healthy and time permits, keep climbing to the top, because it can be done. Every step you take, you will see more magnificent scenery, but the best scenery is at the top of the mountain. At the same time, climbing mountains requires great endurance, strength and willpower.
You are not walking in the park, but you must use all your muscles and toughness to reach the top of the mountain. In some cases, if you are not careful, you may slip, fall and get seriously injured.
But it's a risk worth taking. Stand up and keep climbing. This is me. I may be a bad climber, but it won't stop me from climbing another mountain.
