Han Yuefu Long Songs
Han Dynasty: Anonymous
Kwai in Qingqing Garden, exposed to the sun.
in the spring, everything is brilliant.
I'm always afraid that the autumn festival will come, and the yellow flowers will wither.
when will a hundred rivers go east to the sea and return to the west?
if the young don't work hard, the old will be sad!
Translation:
The sunflower vegetables in the garden are all lush, and the crystal clear sunlight rises.
Spring has spread hope all over the earth, and everything is flourishing.
I'm always afraid that the cold autumn will come, and the leaves will fall yellow and the grass will wither.
A hundred rivers rush eastward to the sea. When can they return to the west?
if young people don't work hard in time, they will only regret for life when they get old.
from: Yuefu Poems.
Long Songs is a classical poem of China, which belongs to the Yuefu Poetry of Han Dynasty, and it is a famous piece that exhorts the world to cherish the time and forge ahead. From the overall conception, this poem mainly means that the seasons change quickly and the time is gone forever, so it advises people to cherish their youth and make great efforts to make a difference.
The whole poem expresses feelings with scenery, and makes sense from feelings. It entrusts the philosophy of life that "the young and the young don't work hard, but the old are sad" in vivid images such as the morning dew is easy to dry, the leaves of Qiu Lai fall, and the hundred rivers go east. With the help of the morning dew, the flowers of Ye Qiu fall, and the flowing water goes east and does not return, there is a sigh that time is fleeting and life is short, encouraging people to firmly grasp the life that flies with time.
Its emotional tone is positive. Its main idea is embodied in the last two sentences, but the poet's thoughts are not simply expressed, but the concrete images rich in aesthetic feeling are extracted from the real world and taught in aesthetics.

1. Introduction to Yuefu:
Yuefu is a special official office set up since the Qin Dynasty to allocate music, train musicians and collect folk songs. The Han Yuefu refers to poems adopted by Yuefu organs in the Han Dynasty. These poems were originally circulated among the people and preserved through Yuefu, which was called "Song Poems" by the Han people and was called "Yuefu" or "Han Yuefu" only in Wei and Jin Dynasties. Poems written by later scholars imitating this form are also called "Yuefu Poems".
"Yuefu" was an official office established by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty. Its duty is to collect folk songs or literati's poems for music, so as to prepare them for the imperial court to perform at sacrifices or banquets. The poems it collected were later called "Yuefu Poetry" or "Yuefu Poetry" for short. It is a new poetic style following The Book of Songs and Songs of the South.
Han Yuefu is another great collection of ancient folk songs after The Book of Songs. Different from The Book of Songs, it created a new style of poetic realism.
Female-themed works occupy an important position in the folk songs of Han Yuefu. They use popular language to construct works close to life, from miscellaneous words to five words, and use narrative writing to portray the characters in detail, create distinctive characters and complete stories.
It is also an important stage in the development of China's five-character poetic style, which can highlight the ideological connotation, focus on describing typical details and open up a new stage in the development of narrative poetry. Han Yuefu has a very high position in the history of literature, and it can stand with the Book of Songs and Chu Ci.
