Many people have watched "Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea". Do you still remember how the Eight Immortals crossed the sea? Today, we will talk about this topic:
There are eight immortals in the Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea, namely Tieguai Li, Han Zhongli, Lan Caihe, Zhang Guolao, He Xiangu, Lu Dongbin, Han Xiangzi and Cao Guojiu. They used their own magic weapons to cross the sea:
1. Tieguai Li was the first to go into the sea. He threw his crutch into the East China Sea. The crutch floated gently on the sea like a small boat. Tieguai Li jumped up and landed on it to cross the sea.
According to legend, Tieguai Li’s surname was Li, also known as Li Ningyang, Li Honghong, and Li Kongmu. It is said that he practiced in Dangshan cave. Li Tieguai often carried a gourd on his back, which contained fairy medicine to cure diseases and save people.
2. Zhang Guo always threw down the fish drum in his hand and stood on the drum to cross the sea. It is also said that he rode his white donkey backwards across the sea.
He usually likes to ride on a white donkey, traveling thousands of miles a day, folding it like paper at night and putting it in a box. When you want to ride, put water in your mouth and spray it. Later generations wrote a poem: "There are so many people in the world who are not as good as this old man. If you don't ride a donkey backwards, you can look back on everything."
3. He Xiangu put the lotus on the sea, and the lotus glowed redly and finally turned into On the lotus platform, He Xiangu stands on it and floats across the sea.
The only female immortal among the Eight Immortals, it is said that her original name was He Xiugu. She was born during the period of Wu Zetian in the Tang Dynasty. She was smart and intelligent since she was a child. The people in the village regarded her as a god and built a building specifically for her to live in. Later, Lu Dongbin made her a fairy.
4. Lan Caihe threw out the flower basket in his hand and shouted "big", and the flower basket turned into a flower basket boat.
He was originally a man, but he often dressed up as a woman and carried a flower basket. He was a wandering Taoist priest. Some people saw him in childhood and old age, and his appearance remained the same.
5. Han Xiangzi threw the jade flute in his hand into the sea. In the blink of an eye, the jade flute turned into a green bamboo raft.
His image is a handsome young man holding a flute. Han Xiangzi's real name is Han Xiang. When he grew up, he was taught the cultivation techniques by Immortals Zhong and Lu, and lived in seclusion in Zhongnan Mountain to practice Taoism. He achieved Zhengguo and was listed among the Eight Immortals.
6. Not to be outdone, Lu Dongbin pulled out his green dragon sword and threw it on the sea. The sword turned into a green dragon and carried Lu Dongbin away through the wind and waves.
Lü Dongbin had Taoist skills and Heavenly Escape Sword Techniques, and was able to kill monsters and eliminate harm for the benefit of the people. He was regarded as one of the Five Ancestors of the North by the Quanzhen Sect.
7. Han Zhongli threw down the banana fan in his hand. This fan was also a treasure. When it met the sea water, it turned into a wide boat. He lay on it and moved forward.
Han Zhongli obtained the secret of the jade box at the Four Hao Peaks of the Forbidden City in Kongtong Mountain and became an immortal. Legend has it that he converted Lu Dongbin during the Tang Dynasty and was one of the five northern Taoist ancestors.
8. When Cao Guojiu was crossing the sea, he gently threw the Yunyang board on the sea. The two Yunyang boards were put together and turned into a small wooden boat to move forward.
He wears a gauze hat, a red robe and official uniform, and holds a Yunyang Board (jade board), which is completely different from the dress of other immortals. Legend has it that he was the eldest brother of Empress Cao, Emperor Song Renzong of the Song Dynasty. Once when I was crossing the Yellow River, I had no boat fare, so I used the gold medal given by the emperor as a mortgage. I happened to meet Lu Dongbin and traveled with him, so he became enlightened and became one of the "Eight Immortals".
The reason why the Eight Immortals want to cross the sea is said to be because the Eight Immortals gathered for dinner and drinking in Penglai Pavilion. Lu Dongbin said that he wanted to enjoy the beautiful scenery. If he wanted to cross the sea, he could not take a boat, so he could only cross the sea with the magic weapons in his hands. The immortals agreed. After that, they went to the beach.
There is also a saying that the Eight Immortals came back from the Queen Mother's Peach Party and came out of the Nantianmen. Looking down, it happened to be the East China Sea. Then Han Xiangzi suggested that we cross over from the sea and then visit Penglai Island. Everyone thought it was very good, but if we found a boat to cross the sea, we wouldn't be able to show off our skills, so everyone used their own skills to cross the sea.
But the Eight Immortals fought so violently across the sea that they shook the palace of the Dragon King of the East China Sea. The Dragon King was very angry, and then the two sides started fighting. The Dragon King of the East China Sea also invited Dragon Kings from other sea areas to help, and the two sides fought. It's overwhelming. Later, the Nanhai Guanyin came forward to make a truce. The Dragon King also released the imprisoned Lan Caihe, and the Eight Immortals left on their treasures. Later, there was a common saying about the story of the Eight Immortals crossing the sea, which is "Eight Immortals crossing the sea, each showing his magical powers."
