My grandma is 76 years old this year. She is tall, with white hair, and her face is covered with wrinkles like knife carvings. She has lost all her teeth and has a pair of dentures. Her feet are 7 inches long and she walks very energetically.
Grandma is very hardworking, and my parents are busy at work, so she relies on her to take care of all the housework. Every day before dawn, grandma is the first to get up and cook for the whole family; I have gone to school, and my parents have gone to work. After she has washed the pots and dishes, she is busy cleaning the room, washing clothes, buying groceries, and making lunch. In this way, from morning to night, grandma would never be idle. Sometimes, her parents advised her to take a rest, and she always said: "I can't miss the children from going to school, and I can't miss you two from going to work." Grandma didn't have words like "construction" and "four modernizations" in her mouth, but she knew Her work is closely related to my studies and the work of my parents.
Grandma is illiterate, but she is very concerned about my study. Once, my grandma showed me a composition selection and said, "Look how well the writing is!" When I saw that my grandma was holding the book upside down, I couldn't help laughing. When I do my homework in the evening, grandma always likes to sit in front of me. Once, she pointed at the words in the Chinese language book and babbled: "Look at how talented he is, and how he writes his words neatly, horizontally and vertically. Can't you learn from them?" I had no choice but to tell him with a smile. She: "Grandma, this is printed by a machine." Sometimes, when grandma sees my cousin and I arguing about something, she blames us for only quarreling and not studying hard. In her eyes, only writing is learning.
Grandma is very strict with us. One day, my family bought several kilograms of meat, and grandma specially made dumplings for us to eat. Grandma served me a large bowl of dumplings, and I ate them with relish for a while. When I looked up, grandma was looking at me and smiling! I asked: "Grandma, why don't you eat?" Grandma smiled and said, "I'm not hungry, you can eat first." When I ate the last dumpling, I saw that there was no meat filling, just a layer of skin, so I threw it away. Arrived at the table. When grandma saw me like this, she rushed to me and said, "What's wrong? You can eat dumpling wrappers too!" I knew grandma was angry, so I hurriedly stepped forward to ask her for help. When grandma saw that I corrected my mistakes after realizing my mistakes, she calmed down her anger, touched my head and said, "When I was your age, I couldn't even eat rice. Life is better now, but we can't waste it!" I heard this As he spoke, his face felt hot, and he stood beside grandma with his head lowered, saying nothing. After doing this, I haven't wasted a single thread.
Grandma is getting older, but she is still as busy as before. Whenever I go to school with my schoolbag on my back and see my grandma busy in the yard, I always feel a surge of reverence in my heart and can't help but speed up my pace.
Grandma’s love for me is endless. She won the love of her children and grandchildren with her hard work and loving heart. I often think that in the beautiful land of our motherland, among thousands of families, there must be many old people like my grandma.
Why do they work all day long and love their children and grandchildren like this? Don’t they want their next generation to be diligent and frugal, study and work hard, and create a new life?
