enjoy life

forefinger

Maybe my thin body is like climbing kudzu vine,

Unable to grasp the future of one's own destiny,

Then please listen to my voice in the biting wind and rain,

Still whispering repeatedly: love life.

Maybe after the fierce struggle in life,

I died more peacefully than the lake.

Then please go to the cemetery to find my inscription,

It also says: Love life.

I made up my mind to use pain as a weight,

I have confidence: make Libra with my life.

I want to measure the value of a person's life,

I hope future generations will follow my example: love life.

Indeed, I cherish what belongs to me.

That winding path,

Through this winding path,

I just realized that life is so hard.

I came barefoot like a waif,

I deeply felt the hardness of the hard rocks on the road.

Plus the brambles in the way.

Let me leave blood behind every step.

I walk barefoot like a beggar,

Knowing the hunger and cold in the snow in winter,

As hot as the poisonous sun in summer,

This makes me cherish every trace of warmth a hundred times.

But I have the personality to challenge the old forces,

Although I have experienced setbacks, I will never take it lightly.

I can live tenaciously until now,

That is: believe in the future and love life.

This poem was written on 1979 shortly after the end of ten years of turmoil, and it can be called a companion piece of Believe in the Future (when cobwebs ruthlessly sealed my stove). They have influenced a whole generation. In those days, many educated youths were encouraged to live tenaciously by believing in the future and loving life when their lives were extremely difficult and their ideals were almost shattered. With unusual perseverance, fortitude, persistence and enthusiasm, the poet told us in a tone that no matter how hard life is, no matter how bumpy fate is, we should be more bumpy, indomitable, bear the burden of humiliation, challenge fate and realize the value of life. All this shows the poet's lofty and solemn proposition: "Believe in the future and love life"! The poet once wrote in another poem "Letters": "We should always remember a truth/whether in happy or painful days/in our hearts, always look forward/in this way, we will not lose the courage to live ..." This poem has a very remarkable feature in capturing images, that is, it selects more objective, painful and sad images, such as "persistent kudzu vine" and "persistent kudzu vine" These images, full of connotation and tension, fully construct the melancholy, profound and rich thoughts and feelings and unique poetic beauty space of the whole poem. This poem follows the consistent artistic style of forefinger poem, which is solemn but not sad, dignified but not heavy, emotional but not sentimental, confused but not confused, shouting in pain, shouting in blood, tearful smile and tenacious song of life!
