The revised content has been widely praised.

Compared with the revised version 1977, the new revised version has more features, including adding new words and new tunes to the old music score, adding festival poems to the church calendar, composing music for poems of different times, styles, chants, repeated sentences and revelations, increasing the number of ritual poems and hymns, and adding short hymns: national hymns and spiritual songs, which rose in the late 20th century. The use of this book is integrated from pure notation to melody staff plus notation, and biblical verses are added to the poetry layout.

The newly revised edition also significantly reduces the proportion of historical time and musical style, examines the theological concepts and poems of old songs, and adds notes and phonetic notation to difficult words. Chinese translation pays more attention to the theological meaning of persistent rhetoric, and often uses common terms such as "God" instead of "God", while English translation is the original word of the appellation pronoun (Thou, Thou) of the Lord God, which does not affect alliteration or rhyme. The Chinese title of the newly revised poem has also been re-selected to express the main content of the poem.
