The departure of my old father frightened my brothers. They were worried that Yue Se would retaliate against them while their father was away (15), so they begged Yue Se in the name of their father (16). The Bible records that Yue Se cried. It seems that the brothers don't understand that Yue Se has forgiven them. In the words of Yue Se, let us understand why Yue Se can forgive. What Yue Se saw was not the hurt of the past, but the blessing of God. Yue Se promised to support his brother and their children. Yue Se's last words tell us that he valued Jacob (24-25) and God's promise to the Israelites, not himself. Yue Se may cry because his brothers are afraid, or even more because they don't know God's blessing.
We have all experienced the pain in life to some extent. How to look back depends entirely on our interpretation of the event. As Christians, should we look at our past sufferings with God's eyes? Through God's eyes, from now until tomorrow, maybe you will find yourself and others around you experiencing God's blessing.
Ask yourself:
1. What unforgettable pains have you experienced in your life?
2. Try to look at the people related to it from the perspective of God. What different experience will you have?
Did you see God's blessing in such an event?
