Poetic imagery

The image of poetry refers to the things with image characteristics described and expressed in poetry. It is a way to present the image world in poetry to readers through the poet's language skills and expression techniques.

Poetic images can be divided into literal images and visual images.

Text images are presented through language and expression. It includes all kinds of adjectives, adverbs, metaphors, personification, contrast, parallelism, repetition, lyricism and other language skills in poetry. Through the change of language and the use of rhetoric, literary images make readers feel and associate psychologically, and then make readers feel * * * about the scenes, characters and emotions depicted in poems.

Visual image is presented by visual elements such as image, color, space and shape. Through the description of the poet, the composition of the image and the visual effect, it presents the concrete image to the reader, so that the reader can see what the poem depicts in imagination.

Symbolic method for judging images;

First, the application method, remember the symbol consciousness of the images accumulated at ordinary times, and apply it directly during the exam.

Second, the association method, the image in classical poetry, its original meaning and referential meaning are often related in characteristics. For example, plum blossom, because of its pride in winter, often means that it is not afraid of evil; Because bamboo is hollow, it is often taken as modesty, and because bamboo is straight and introverted, it is often taken as integrity; Wait a minute.

Third, homophonic method. When the associative method can't judge the symbolic meaning it refers to, then the homophonic method can be used. Many ancient images are often related to their original meaning and referential meaning. For example, "Liu" and "Liu" are homophonic, so it often means "reluctant to part with friends and farewell", and "Lian" is homophonic with "love", so it is taken as a symbol of love.
