Introduction to attractions
Gongchen Mountain is 157.7 meters above sea level. Qianwulong at the southern foot is the birthplace of Qian Liu. The imperial edict changed its name to Gongchen Mountain. In the first year of Zhenming in the Later Liang Dynasty (915), Qian Liushe built the Gongchen Hall and the Gongchen Temple, and at the same time built the Gongchen Tower, named after the mountain. The words "Gongchen Mountain" are carved on the boulder on the top of the mountain.
The biggest highlight of Gongchen Mountain is the Gongchen Tower. This tower is the earliest existing square tower in Zhejiang Province. It retains the legacy of the square tower in the Tang Dynasty. It is the representative of the square tower from the Tang Dynasty to the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. It is currently one of the key cultural relics protection units in the country.
The road up the mountain is a stone path paved with cobblestones. There is a dome-shaped pavilion halfway up the mountain. The stone tablet in the pavilion reads "Introduction to the Heroes' Tower" on the front and "Reconstruction of the Heroes' Tower" on the back. On the right side of the stele pavilion is a stone stele that is a national key cultural relic protection unit issued by the State Council of the People's Republic of China. The top of the mountain not far behind the stele pavilion is the Heroes Tower. The perimeter of the Heroes Tower is protected by a wooden fence. If you want to take pictures, there is an open space in the north of the tower where you can take a picture of the entire Heroes Tower.
