The Main Contents of Zhu Ziqing's The Back

This is a retrospective essay, written in 1925, with a very simple and common story.

It was the scene that the author recalled 19 17 when his father, who was unemployed at home, sent his son to study in the north and broke up at the railway station. The author was studying in the Philosophy Department of Peking University, and when he learned that his grandmother had died, he rushed to Xuzhou from Beijing and went back to Yangzhou with his father to attend the funeral.

After the funeral, my father went to Nanjing to find a job, the author went back to Beijing to study, and the father and son said goodbye in Pukou. At that time, in China, warlords were separated, imperialist forces were fighting, and the working people were in dire straits. As an honest, kind and upright intellectual, Zhu Ziqing is bound to feel the oppression of society and feel lonely and desolate.

Due to the darkness of society, the author's family is more and more embarrassed. All these reflect the reality that intellectuals were busy and in a difficult situation at that time. In this context, what the author wrote is not only the simple ethical love between father and son, but also the hardship of the times and the pain of the soul.
