Dynasty: Tang Dynasty Author: Wei
The constraint in the office for a whole year is really boring, and I feel happy when I go out for an outing early in the morning.
Green willows accompany the spring breeze, and green hills dilute my thoughts.
Rest on the bush, rest freely by the stream, and wander by the stream.
Fragrant fragrance leaves misty rain, and the quiet earth is full of pigeons in spring.
This love of strength and tranquility has been lost again and again, just because of the busy business.
Here, I can finally build my hut. Mu Tao went straight to Shu.
Creation background
This poem was written in the spring of 779 in the fourteenth year of Dali.
Wei Wuying, a native of Chang 'an (now Xi City, Shaanxi Province), was a bodyguard of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty in his early years. Later, he cut corners to study, so he was promoted to a scholar and served as Luoyang Cheng. He once resigned and lived in seclusion. During the reign of Dezong, he served as a secretariat in Chuzhou, Jiangzhou and Suzhou, and was later called "Weijiangzhou" or "Weijiazhou". Because he used to be a doctor, he was also called "Wei". Wei's poems are famous for their pastoral poems, and some of his works reflect the social chaos and people's suffering after the Anshi Rebellion. In art, he learned from Tao Yuanming and was influenced by Xie Lingyun and Wang Wei, forming his own artistic characteristics. There are Wei Suzhou collections.
This poem gives a fresh description of the spring scenery in Shan Ye, showing the poet's ability to write about the scenery. However, Wei is not Tao Yuanming. After returning to nature, Tao Yuanming can devote himself to the fields and write poems about rural scenery. Pastoral scenery, everywhere can be integrated into poetry, everywhere written naturally and vividly. Wei, on the other hand, likes to enjoy the scenery in his spare time and tries to wash away the dust and fatigue with the open scenery. He didn't appreciate the beauty of nature as deeply and meticulously as Tao Yuanming did. Tao Yuanming's poems are naturally well written, but Wei can't help but temper them, so the word "mourning" in his poems. But to be fair, Wei's landscape writing was unique in the Tang Dynasty.
