This poem Westbound should be written by Chairman Mao and Chen Yi. According to the textual research of Chen Yi's sons Chen, Peng Span and Lei Lei (PLA Literature and Art 1978 No.2), the basic idea of Westbound belongs to Chen Yi, but it has been greatly improved in form and content after revision.
