The original poem is as follows:

New Year-Wang Guozhen

Please let me say happy new year to you.

Watch the snowball dance like a tide.

Please let me say happy new year to you.

Let the past days flow like running water.

Let the later days be like the dawn.

Please let me say happy new year to you.

May you reap in the rain.

May your good news spread with the wind.

Please let me say happy new year to you.

I bless you in the sun.

I prayed for you in the moonlight.
