Ping Shui Yun was named after its publisher, Liu Yuan, a Pingshui man in the late Southern Song Dynasty. Pingshui Rhyme divides Chinese characters into 107 rhymes according to the rhymes used in the Tang Dynasty. Each rhyme part contains several words, which are used as rhyme in rhyme poems. Rhyming words must come from the same rhyme department and cannot be misused. Lu Fayan's Sui Dynasty Qieyun is divided into 206 rhymes, which is too detailed. The Tang Dynasty stipulated that similar rhymes could be used together, so the actual simplified version of Qieyun in the Tang Dynasty was 193 rhymes. In the Southern Song Dynasty, when Liu Yuan, a native of Pingshui, Shanxi Province, wrote "A New Rhyme of Herringbone", he synthesized the same rhyme into 107 rhyme; When Wang Wenyu, a native of Pingshui, Shanxi, wrote the new rhyme of Pingshui, he synthesized the same rhyme into 106 rhyme; Pei Wen Yun Fang, which was compiled during the reign of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty, synthesized Pingshui rhyme into 65,438 rhymes.
Pingshui rhyme is not only the rhyme of Tang people, but also the new rhyme of Chinese.
The Outline of the Development of China's Poetry in the Early 20th Century (2 1) by the Chinese Poetry Society points out: "In order to promote the reform of phonology and popularize new rhymes, we must organize scholars and experts to compile new rhymes as soon as possible. Yun Xin can first produce a simplified version to solve the urgent need, and then produce a complex version based on the trial simplified version. " On this basis, the editorial department of China Poetry organized forces to analyze, study, compare and summarize two short styles published last year and several short styles circulating in the poetry circle, solicited the opinions of some poetry authors, and sorted out the short style of China New Rhyme (Fourteen Rhymes) through collective discussion.
