Since the Han Dynasty, Buddhism has spread eastward. After a long period of development, China native Buddhism has independently developed three sects, namely Tiantai Sect, Huayan Sect and Zen Sect. Among them, Zen is the most unique and has the most profound influence on the thoughts of ancient China literati. Zen Buddhism, also known as Zongmen, flourished in Huineng, the sixth ancestor, and became the mainstream of Han Buddhism after the middle and late Tang Dynasty. Many literati in the Tang Dynasty had an indissoluble bond with Buddhism, which influenced their literary creation, especially Wang Wei. Under the influence of Buddhist meditation, he wrote extremely fine natural scenery, which is characterized by silence and emptiness. The combination of subject and object shows the harmony and brilliance of individual life and natural ecology in the comfort of nature. Therefore, from Wang Wei's poems, we can see the influence of Buddhism, especially Zen, on Wang Wei's literary creation.
