From "Business Master·Residence at Dinghui Yuan in Huangzhou" written by Su Shi of the Song Dynasty, the original text is as follows:
The missing moon hangs on the sparse tung trees, and the missing moon makes people still at first. Who can see lonely people coming and going alone, misty and solitary shadows.
When you start, you look back. There is no one to forgive you for your hatred. Picking out all the cold branches and refusing to live on them, the lonely sandbank is cold.
Translation: The crescent moon hangs on the sparse sycamore trees; it’s late at night and people are quiet, and the water in the clepsydra has already dripped out. Who has seen Youren walking around alone, like an ethereal figure like a solitary goose in the sky? Suddenly he was startled and turned around, feeling resentful but no one knew about it. Even though they picked out cold branches, they refused to rest on them, preferring to endure the loneliness and coldness on the sandbank.
Extended information:
What is written above is the scenery seen in the courtyard late at night. "The moon is missing and the trees are hanging on the sparse trees, and the missing trees are still at first." It creates a lonely atmosphere in the dead of night and the moon is hanging on the sparse trees, paving the way for the appearance of "Yu Ren" and "Gu Hong". "Leak" refers to the clepsydra used by the ancients to keep time; "Leak" refers to late at night. When the water in the clepsydra was gone and people were quieter, Su Shi stepped out of the courtyard and looked up at the moon. What a lonely night it was!
The moon seems to be aware of this, as the clear light shines through the sparse paulownia trees, as if hanging between the branches. These two sentences are extraordinary, exaggerating a state of being born aloof. The next two sentences are, "I sometimes see lonely people coming and going alone, misty and lonely shadows." The surroundings are so peaceful and quiet. At this moment when everything is dreaming, who else is wandering lonely in the moonlight like me, like a bird Where is the lonely wild goose flying across the sky?
First, the image of a "ghost" who lives alone and has a lot of worries is highlighted, and then the "ghost" disappears from the "ghost" in a light and fast way, creating a correspondence between the two images. The coincidence makes people think of the aloof state of mind of "Youren", isn't it just like the ethereal and immortal shadow of Gu Hong?
These two sentences are not only actual writing, but also through the correspondence and grafting of the images of humans and birds, they are highly symbolic and poetic and strengthen the otherworldliness of "Youren". Things and I are identical and complement each other, making the image of loneliness more concrete and touching.
In the lower part of the poem, Hong and others were written together, "I was startled but looked back. No one could forgive me for my hatred." This is a direct description of my lonely state of mind. When people are lonely, they always look around and look back, and what they find is more loneliness. "There is no one to forgive when there is hatred." Who can understand one's lonely heart? There is no sound in the world, and I am lonely and miserable. How can I feel so miserable?
"It picked up all the cold branches and refused to rest on it, and the lonely sandbank was cold." It writes that Gu Hong encountered misfortune, harbored hatred and fear, flew back and forth among the cold branches, picked up all the cold branches and refused to rest on it. , had no choice but to stay on a lonely and cold sandbank and spend such a cold night. Here, the poet uses symbolic techniques to ingeniously pass through Hong's loneliness and mist.
Looking back in shock, embracing resentment, and choosing a place to stay, express the author's lonely situation when he was relegated to Huangzhou and his noble self-profession and unwillingness to follow the crowd. The author and Gu Hong cherish each other. He uses anthropomorphic techniques to express Gu Hong's psychological activities and objectifies his own subjective feelings, which shows superb artistic skills.
The realm of this poem is indeed as Huang Tingjian said: "The meaning of the poem is sublime. It seems that it is not like eating fireworks and cannibalizing people's words, but it is not like there are thousands of books in the chest, and there is not a trace of tackiness in the writing, who can achieve this!" The high, free and easy state of being free from the mundane world benefits from the superb artistic skills.
The author "sings stories with his nature and spirit", draws inspiration from themes, sets scenes in mind, and supports people with objects; in the description of the environment and background of Gu Hong and Moon Night, the scene selection and narrative are simple, concise, and ethereal. Dynamic, implicit, vivid and expressive, it is highly typical.
