Why did Haizi commit suicide?

Haizi died at the hands of mediocre, utilitarian and indifferent literary editors and in the mediocre, utilitarian and indifferent literary world of China.

Why did Haizi, a Peking University poet, commit suicide? Many people have different opinions. Lovelorn, lonely, unable to write poetry, unsatisfactory work, and so on. But I think the biggest reason for Haizi's suicide is his literary talent. His brilliant poems are not recognized by secular mediocrity, just like the philosopher Nietzsche was killed by Van Gogh and the musician Bach was depressed all his life.

Although many people in this world are engaged in literature and art, how many people really understand literature and art? Literary editors and journalists of newspapers, periodicals and publishing houses, literary professors, researchers, officials, critics and theorists of universities, research institutes and government agencies, judges and experts of various literary award-winning organizations, and even novelists, poets, essayists and reportage writers themselves ... Do you think they must know literature? Bullshit!

The vast majority of so-called "literary and art workers" are actually mediocre people. They can only write and understand writers and works as mediocre as themselves-things that conform to the usual "norms" and "routines". However, in fact, literature is a creative work and should not follow the usual "routines". But these mediocre people can't understand-let alone write-literary works that literary geniuses and geniuses don't follow the routine.

Because of this, Haizi, a talented poet, never published several works before his death. His genius works are submitted to various literary newspapers and periodicals, and those mediocre literary editors can't understand them at all, just like the blind. Isn't that casting pearls before swine? Don't you think he will be sad?

It was only after Haizi's death that his genius was slowly discovered in the society, and his fame gradually rang, and everyone gradually accepted his genius and masterpiece (which confirmed two truths: the eyes of the masses were discerning; Time will tell), so these mediocre editors came back to tell everyone about his goodness and reissued his works. Similarly, these mediocre professors, critics and poets will come back to flatter him with everyone. As for whether they understand Haizi's works, only God knows.

It seems that there are no real experts and experts in the literary and art circles, but more snobs and chameleons. Contrary to Haizi's gradual recognition and promotion, Wang Guozhen had a high status, high reputation and high evaluation at the beginning; Later, everyone found that his level was "not much better" and he was booed, so his status, reputation and evaluation became lower and lower. My alma mater, a famous liberal arts university, is not very backward in the ranking of Chinese departments of universities in China. Once there was a professor and department leader transferred from Hubei who made a fortune by flattering Wang Guozhen. Now people stop playing Wang Guozhen and play Haizi instead. Because people are now the "authority" and "veteran" of the national poetry circle!
