The concept of hypertext 1965 TedNelson thought of a way to organize the relevant texts encountered in the text when dealing with text files on the computer, so that the computer can respond to people's thinking and obtain the needed information conveniently. He coined a word for this method, called hypertext. In fact, the real meaning of this word is "link", which is used to describe the organization of files in a computer. Later, people called this organized text "hypertext". Hypertext is a kind of text, which is the same as the text in a book. But compared with traditional text files, the main difference between them is that traditional text is organized in a linear way, while hypertext is organized in a nonlinear way. The "nonlinearity" here means that some related contents encountered in the text are organized together through links, and users can browse these related contents conveniently. The structure of this text is close to people's way of thinking and working. Hyperlink refers to the link between words, phrases, symbols, images, sound clips or video clips in text, or with other files and hypertext files, also known as "hotlink" or "hypertextlink". Words, phrases, symbols, images, sound clips, movie clips and other files are usually called objects or document elements, so hyperlinks are links between objects or document elements. These interconnected objects are not limited by spatial location. They can be in the same file, or between different files, or they can be linked to files on any networked computer in the world through the network.
