Looking back on the development of Lu opera style, in general, we will find its changing track. Before 1960' s, the style of Lu Opera was synchronized with the aesthetics of the times. The phenomenon of broken files began to appear in the 1980 s.
Before the founding of the People's Republic of China, Lu Opera was in a difficult environment of fending for itself. The art is rough, and the artistic style shows more inferior characteristics. The simplicity and gentleness of the style of Lu Opera contains a strong factor of sadness and hopelessness, which is essentially the echo of farmers' hearts. It is in line with the depressed mental emotions brewed by farmers in the poor years. The peasants love Lu Opera, and they have a sense of intimacy that is difficult to meet and a sense of entertainment that releases their feelings. This is the fundamental reason why Lu Opera was still loved by the masses, especially farmers, although its artistic quality was low before the founding of the People's Republic of China. Besides, the cultural life in the backcountry was extremely poor.
After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), the Lu Opera team changed from a professional and semi-professional dispersed state to an organized and standardized team. The orientation of Lu Opera performance has changed from the original rural area to the simultaneous development of urban and rural areas, and the service targets have been greatly broadened. The change of audience composition and the progress of social material culture have made the public's cultural aesthetics leap to a new level, and they also have high expectations for Lu Opera.
Lu opera does not live up to the high hopes of the times. With the joint efforts of new and old Lu opera artists, Lu opera has been improved in all directions, especially the creation of modern Lu opera has a strong momentum and remarkable achievements, which has greatly changed the style of Lu opera. There is a sense of freshness in style, and the elements of softness and rigidity in style are enriched. The bitterness in style is no longer endless with the atmosphere of confusion and hopelessness. The simplicity and gentleness of Lu Opera tend to be rich and fresh from the original simplicity and weakness.
The fullness of Lu opera style benefits from and conforms to the changes of the times. During the 1950s and 1960s, the newborn China was thriving, with pure social atmosphere and simple people's moral spirit. It is this spiritual outlook that hangs over the whole society that promotes the transformation of Lu opera style, and at the same time accepts the elegance of Lu opera style. During this period, Lu opera was popular all over the country, and the combination of its style and the spirit of the times was an important factor.
During the Cultural Revolution, only local operas were given the right to imitate and perform, and the style of Lu opera was in a state of being shaped at will.
After the new period, Lu Opera was revived with other operas. This period should have been an opportunity for the revival and development of Lu Opera. Unfortunately, due to various reasons, the progress of Shandong opera in our province is too heavy. Although many new plays have been created, the overall improvement is not great. Compared with Shaoxing Opera, Huangmei Opera and Henan Opera, which used to be the leading geese in local operas, they are a few steps behind. Even the emerging new operas, such as Longjiang Opera, Ken Opera and Hu Mei Opera, are pushing me. Lu's plays are rough in the colorful drama world. In the audience's aesthetic impression, Lu's plays are like a yellowed old stills, with an old flavor. Although the style of Lu opera does not lose its local characteristics, it is characterized by emptiness, vulgarity and affectation. After artistic sublimation, the style of Lu Opera lacks some aesthetic feeling and poetic rhyme.
