Ezra pound, an American poet and literary critic, is an important representative of Imagist poetry movement. He gave birth to the theory of "artistic conception" from China's classical poems and Japanese haiku, and made outstanding contributions to the mutual reference of eastern and western poems.
Imagism is a literary movement initiated and put into practice by some British and American poets from 1909 to 19 17. Its purpose is to ask poets to express things vividly with vivid, accurate, implicit and highly concentrated images, to integrate the poet's thoughts and feelings into their actions, and to oppose comments and sighs. Pound established the Imagist Poetry Salon during his stay in London, which was supported by many famous poets such as Lawrence and Williams. 1902, Pound defined the name Imagist, 19 13. In March, he summarized some examples in which Imagist was banned. Pound once edited Egocentrism, an imagist publication, and edited the first imagist poetry collection in 19 13.
Ezra pound is recognized as "the father of modern American poetry". The Imagism Movement advocated by him, though it didn't last long, played a key role in the development of modern American poetry.
