Yingchun believes that flowers must be appreciated before writing poems; On the contrary, Xue Baochai's opinion is that poetry is used to "express feelings"-to entrust thoughts and feelings, not to record facts. If you have something to say in your heart, what is it? It is just a material and a carrier. What are you chanting? Why should we look first and appreciate first?
2. Intention: It is necessary to avoid vulgarity and not deliberately innovate.
While discussing with Shi Xiangyun, Xue Baochai said:
"Don't be too smart. Look at those tricky topics and extremely dangerous rhymes in ancient poetry. If the title is too clever and the rhyme is too dangerous, there will be no good poem and it will always be petty. Although poetry is afraid of saying familiar words, it should not survive too much. As long as the first thing is fresh, natural wording will be good. "
Vulgarity is often the enemy of art; Innovation and originality are valuable. Familiar words are the most boring. Talking about scenery must be "spring flowers and autumn moon", and saying goodbye is nothing more than "Luan Baqiao". Every time I watch the full moon, I feel homesick for my loved ones, and every fence is concerned about the country and the people. This is a cliche. Avoid this kind of thing when writing poetry. But in order to be unfamiliar, it is not advisable to deliberately seek survival and innovation. I don't have that fresh and natural idea in my heart, so it's awkward to create one in my pen, but it's actually another custom.

When people read Xue Baoqin's poems, they all say they are wonderful, which only pays attention to the aesthetics of poetry and ignores other things. Xue Baochai is very concerned about values. In her view, poetry should convey mainstream values.

Not mastering the rules and breaking them are two different things. Some of you make a look, which one is wrong, he didn't learn at all; Some of them, as you can see, do have some inappropriate styles, but the expression effect is strong and unique, which is a great talent. Learn the rules and pursue great talents.
2. Have ideas first, then have language.
Xiangling is a beginner and didn't understand this process accurately at once. She said, "It turns out that these styles and rules are the last things, as long as the words are novel."
Dai-yu said, "That's why it's important to decide what to say. If the meaning is true, even the words don't need to be revised, which is good. This is called' don't hurt your meaning with words'. "
What we are talking about here is the relationship between ideas and words. When Xiangling heard that there were strange sentences, no matter how the composition was, she could regard strange sentences as the first factor, but she didn't know how to treat words as tables and meanings as words. Words are the purpose and thoughts are the foundation. Where is a table separated from the inside and the end of a book? Rhetoric and literary talent are beautiful, but the content is pale and empty, which is not a good poem.
Therefore, Lin Daiyu emphasized that "the initial heart is important." If you really have something to say, this is the starting point and the most important thing. If what I want to say is really interesting, then I can do it well without deliberately pursuing it. What you think is vague and shallow, but you can't express your intention clearly and deeply. If you insist, you will use words to hurt. Therefore, thinking deeply, thinking fresh and thinking original is the first and most important.
3, can not flow on the surface.
Xiangling likes Lu You's phrase "heavy curtains don't leave fragrance for a long time, and ancient inkstones are slightly concave and gather more ink". Lin Daiyu said, "Never learn such poems. Because I don't know poetry, I love it when I see it. Once you enter this mode, you will never learn again. "
Lu You's two sentences are also good sentences from the perspective of describing things, which vividly describe the characteristics of things and the tranquility of the study. Where is "shallowness"?
Mr. Qian Mu analyzed: "These two poems are very neat. In fact, it's just a literal pile, and there is no one behind the poem. If it is completely empty, it is not completely true. The man burned a pot of incense in the study and hung the curtain before the incense went out. He writes or writes poems there, and he has a good inkstone. It's no use grinding ink There was originally a person behind this poem, but this person taught everyone that it was it, so people had no special artistic conception and special taste. No artistic conception, no interest, just a layman. " This statement is thoroughly analyzed.
There is no unique and specific person behind the poem, that is, there is no solid thought and emotion. Describing things is just describing things, not a first-class good poem. Lin Daiyu is still emphasizing her intention to think deeper and further.
