Creation background: China was defeated in the Sino-Japanese War. On March 23rd, the 21st year of Guangxu reign in Qing Dynasty (1April 895 17), Li Hongzhang signed the Sino-Japanese Peace Treaty with the Japanese government in Shimonoseki, Japan, ceding Taiwan Province Province to Japan. Qiu was furious when he heard the news, pricked his finger and wrote the words "refusing to keep the country" in blood.

After that, they joined hands with the gentry in Taiwan Province Province to organize an uprising army and fight to the death with the enemy. Unable to get foreign aid, he was defeated and returned to his hometown of Guangdong. On March 23rd, the 22nd year of Guangxu (1May 5th, 896), that is, one year after the signing of treaty of shimonoseki, Qiu learned from his mistakes and wrote the poem "Sorrow in Spring".

Qiu was born in Miaoli County, Taiwan Province Province. His ancestors moved south from the Central Plains to eastern Guangdong to escape the war. Because they didn't want to live in front of the invaders, they moved to the south. During their long exile, they had to fight against the sinister natural environment and developed the habit of hard work and enterprising spirit. Future generations remembered a legacy: ancestors moved to the south because of foreign invasion, and all future generations, no matter where they settled, worked hard in Qin Ying to make themselves strong.

When I arrived at Qiu's great-grandfather, Qiu took my hometown across the ocean and moved to Taiwan Province Province because of the narrow arable land and no livelihood. This is probably the middle period of the Qing dynasty. In Qiu's generation, Qiu's family has settled in Taiwan Province for four generations for nearly a hundred years.

After three years of Tongzhi (1864), Qiu was born in such a rural teacher's family. They had strong patriotism and love for their hometown, but they kept a simple life. He was influenced by simple family style and tempered by hard life since childhood, eager to serve the country and the nation. All this has had a positive and beneficial impact on his future career and life path.

Qiu has been gifted since childhood and never forgets to read.
