Gottfried Keller

His poems combine the excellent traditions of romanticism and realism, forming his own strong style. His poems reflect his ideal of bourgeois democracy. During his stay in Berlin, he wrote the first draft of the novel "Henry in Green" and the novella collection "Selma Devilla". The former is an autobiographical work, describing the growth process of the protagonist. It is an important educational novel in German literature. The revised edition published in his later years highlights the positive significance of life. The Man of Selma Devilla is a representative work of the writer. With humor, humor and satire, the work reveals the ugly social and moral phenomena associated with the process of Swiss capitalism, and also writes the seeds of new forces. This collection of novels shows that the author is not only a master who is good at writing about rural life, but also an excellent painter of urban customs. Among them, Romeo and Juliet in the Country, Three Honest Combers, Clothes make the Man, etc. are all famous works in German literature. Since then, he has published Seven Legends, Collected Stories of Zurich and Collected Stories of Proverbs. The Collection of Zurich Novels shows the social and historical changes in my hometown and is full of local flavor, so the writer won the honorary civil rights of Zurich in the same year. In 1886, the last important work, the novel Martin Sahlander, was published, which reflected the common faults of capitalist society in Swiss society in 198s. Keller became the most important writer in Switzerland because of his profound reflection of Swiss social life in the mid-19th century and his outstanding artistic achievements.
