Peacock Flying Southeast, also known as "Ancient Poems for Jiao Zhongqing's Wife", is one of the representative works of ancient folk songs in Han Dynasty and the earliest existing long narrative poem in China. It was first recorded in Xu Ling's "New Ode to Yutai" in Chen Dynasty, and it was named after its first sentence "Peacock flies southeast".

Mulan Poetry tells the story of a girl named Hua Mulan who joined the army instead of her father in the Northern Dynasties. At that time, women were not allowed to join the army. Mulan disguised herself as a man, representing her father in the battlefield 12 years. It was not until she disarmed and returned to the field that everyone discovered that she was a daughter.
