The Night Scene by Huichong River is a set of poems by Su Shi about the night scene by Huichong River. The first poem is entitled "A Duck Play", which shows that the center of this poem is a dynamic duck. Two or three peach blossoms are blooming outside the bamboo forest, and ducks are swimming in the water. They first noticed the warming of the river in early spring. The beach has been covered with Artemisia selengensis, reeds have begun to sprout, and puffer fish are about to swim from the sea to the river.
In the original painting, Su Shi reproduced the mid-spring scenery in the south of the Yangtze River with the method of dynamic and static combination, and also integrated the poet's reasonable imagination, which complemented the original painting. Through such pen and ink, Su Shi transformed the quiet picture into a vivid and active poetic scene.
In Su Shi's eyes, Hui Chong's painting is no longer a plane static picture on paper in the frame, but a dynamic feeling with profound experience and subtle observation. Still life is picturesque and animals are realistic, and the two are integrated into one. I don't know which is the picturesque scene and which is the real scene. The poet's dynamic association broadens the world beyond the field of vision expressed by painting, and makes poetry and painting combine perfectly.
