Many Chinese writers in Singapore are from Chao 'an, such as Chen Lianqing, Feng Jiaonong and Chen in the early stage, Zhong Qi and Huang Shengfa (suitable for the people) in the middle and late stage, Mei Yun and Chen Huashu, and the most famous ones are Liu Si and his children Anji, Changyao, Katyusha and Guqin. Because of its contribution to Singapore's literary world, especially in poetry, the Liu family has been named "the five outstanding poets in Singapore".
Another pair of brothers and sons are Liu Bei 'an and his children Cai Lan, Cai Mao and Cai Liang. Liu Bei 'an (1905- 1996), formerly known as Cai Wenxuan, was born in Shimen Village, Jin Shizhen, Chaoan County. For some reason, he is usually called Shimen Cai, so he calls himself Cai Shimen in the name of Li. Another pen name is Di Yang, Angelica dahurica, Qin Ximen and Zhu Bei. Cai Wenxuan is an important writer of modern Chinese literature in Singapore. He is the third writer to win the "Southeast Asian Literature Award" awarded by the Thai government. He used to be chairman of Singapore Writers Association and consultant of Singapore Writers Association. His creation involves new poems, novels, essays and plays, among which poetry is the most famous. His published poems include A Journey to the Doctor's City, A Dream Land, A Journey to the Soul, Snow Mud, Mud on Shoes, Colorless Rainbow, etc. Among them, Colorless Rainbow is a long narrative poem reflecting life, which is known as "rich in local color". The book won the 1978 Best Book Award in Singapore.
