late spring
Author: Han Yu
Grass and trees know that spring will come back soon, and all kinds of reds and purples compete for Fang Fei.
Even the fickle elm tree without beautiful colors is unwilling to be lonely, dancing with the wind and turning into snowflakes flying all over the sky.
The return will soon be over.
Willow catkins
Elm pods and elm money, before elm leaves, grow pods between branches first. Pods are as small as money, always white, falling with the wind.
Background This is one of Sixteen Poems of Traveling South of the City written by Yuanhe in the 11th year. At this time, the poet is nearly half a year old.
Flowers and trees all know that spring is back, and they all want to keep the pace of spring, but they compete with each other. Even beautiful flowers and elm money are unwilling to be lonely, dancing with the wind and turning into flying snow.

The moral of this poem is different, and different life experiences and moods will have different understandings.
The usual understanding is: flowers and trees know that spring will disappear, so all kinds of flowers and trees show their brilliance; Catkin and elm lack talent and foresight, so they have to drift with the wind.
From this perspective, flowers and trees are quite spiritual. They realize that time and tide wait for no man, and they know how to try their best to show their life value. Flowers and plants are still like this, let alone people? How can you follow the example of catkins and waste your money?
Can we think differently?
