The northern part of Hainan Island is a volcano-intensive area. Volcanoes have been erupting here for a million years. Basalt, volcanic slag, volcanic bombs, lava cakes, volcanic breccia and pyroclastic materials condensed from volcanic magma are constantly accumulating, forming a lava platform of more than 3,000 square kilometers, on which many volcanic cones are scattered. After the crustal changes, there are still more than 50 intact dead craters in Shishan Town and Yongxing Town of Qiongshan City in the northern part of Hainan Island today, forming a crater group. After the visit, some geological experts think that Yun Yun is a volcanic geological museum with well-preserved craters and lava tunnels. Ma 'anling crater has been invented and developed as a crater park. It is the highest elevation (222.6 meters) among the Qiongbei Volcanoes and one of the best preserved extinct volcanoes in China. According to geological experts' speculation, its last volcanic movement was about 1.3 million to 30 thousand years ago. However, the shape of the crater is known, the lava is intact, the weathering is less, and the fire-breathing tendency is clear, which shows the complete volcanic landform of the cone, attracting Chinese and foreign tourists.
Not far from the west of Haikou, you can see a concave ridge standing above a lush green forest, which forms a saddle-shaped mountain with the conical ridge on the right. This is Ma 'anling. It is the highest altitude in Qiongshan City. When I arrived at Ma 'anling Crater Park, I stood at the entrance and looked ahead. I saw strange flowers, trees and rocks circling in the hexagonal honeycomb platform frame, giving people a beautiful feeling. In particular, the "A"-shaped mountaineering path from near to far, from low to high, is like two jade steps endowed by nature, with great momentum and outstanding charm, giving people a refined charm. On the way to climb the mountain, right in front of the crater, there is a small stone temple, which was built in Qingdaoguang for four years. There is a door in the temple, which reads "Mountain peaks match the sky". There are three stone tablets in Baitai, which are called "Land God", "Mountain God" and "Storm God". The stone temple combines a pedantic fairy story: in the eternal past, a fairy descended to Qiongzhou to travel. She was sad to see that Yangshan, where Ma 'anling is located, has not rained for a long time, and there are no crops, poor livestock and poor people. So she played back the jade emperor, hoping to come down to earth to benefit the world. The Jade Emperor gave her a golden ear and a pair of goats. After the fairy came down to earth, she became a friendly couple with the hardworking farmer Chunteng, herding sheep every day and living in a cave at night. One day, the fierce Vulcan forced the fairy to approach the crater. Brave Chunteng fought side by side with Vulcan and vowed to put out the fire and save his wife. The Jade Emperor was deeply moved by Chunteng's confidence and showed him the skills of fire fighting. Chunteng ran to Wuzhishan, borrowed a towering tree from the land god and cut it into a pole; Borrow red mud from mountain gods to make buckets; Borrow two buckets of water from Fengshen and pick them to put out the fire. Chunteng trudged to Yangshan with divine water on his back. Fierce Vulcan invented the method of nailing two buckets, which made Chunteng unable to carry any more. In his impatience, Chunteng stepped on the pole, and the golden mean pressed on Vulcan's neck, so that he could never turn over. This is the "one" word ridge now; Kick the bucket with the other foot, and immediately it will storm and suppress the fire to save the fairy. The two buckets also formed two saddle-shaped craters with double ridges. Since then, hundreds of miles of Yangshan in Fiona Fang have never been invaded by Vulcan, and the mountains are full of fat sheep and fruity flavor. In order to help Chunteng defeat the Vulcan gods, the local people built a stone temple under the main peak of the crater, which is dedicated every year. Climbing up from the small stone temple, you will soon reach the edge of Ma 'anling crater. The crater is funnel-shaped, with a diameter of 130m and a depth of 69m. When the volcano erupts, you can clearly see the original lava. From the edge of the basin, it can be recycled to the bottom of the basin along the stone steps. There is no water at the bottom of the basin, only the cave walls are steep, white clouds are leisurely overhead, and the feet are chilly. The crevices are covered with grass and miscellaneous trees, which makes the lava well protected. The steep wall of Fiona Fang crater is obviously formed by the consolidation of magma ejected by the volcano for the last time. Although it has experienced thousands of years of vicissitudes, its shape is still well known, and its fire tendency is also very clear. Along the edge of the crater. You can climb very high and go around. Looking from a height, the Qiongzhou Strait is in the north, and Leizhou Peninsula can be seen at dawn. The northeast is Haikou, a city with many tall buildings. Another peak in Ma 'anling is also the crater, which has formed a cone after years of soil accumulation. Around Ma 'anling, grotesque volcanic rocks can be seen everywhere, most of which are dark black and some are reddish brown. Stones are dense and solid, and some are porous and loose. The lava platform piled up by volcanic rocks is rugged and not suitable for farming, but the soil is fertile and it is a good place to plant fruit trees. Both sides of the route are covered with fruit trees and shrubs such as litchi, longan, pomegranate and jackfruit. Yongxing Town, east of Ma 'anling, is the "hometown of litchi" in Hainan. Shishan sheepskin, which takes tender leaves of shrubs as its staple food, is famous for its tender meat and delicious taste. Visitors to the crater often taste the warm pot mutton here in Liwan Wine Town and even the whole world. Especially in the summer evening, on this hill in Yuan Ye, strings of colored lights are flashing in the shade, and guests enjoy the cool and chat.
There is a typical negative crater about ten kilometers from Ma 'anling crater. The so-called negative crater, that is, there is no prominent volcanic cone, but a huge depression one kilometer long, 800 meters wide and about 20 meters deep. There are trees in the crater, and the crops are growing well. In this area, the criss-crossing network of molten holes is even more amazing. Dozens of tunnels are tubular, multi-layered and diverse. According to local villagers, these tunnels can be up to 7 kilometers long and the highest is 10 meter. Many holes are intertwined. Due to the volcanic eruption, the natural wells, natural arch bridges, stalactites and lava in this area are all kinds of foam-like and rhyolitic lava.
