The third episode of the documentary "Life for the First Time", "Growing Up", tells the story of a group of left-behind children in rural areas learning to write poems. The child is naive, sensitive and sad. They went to the mountains to collect the wind, held a bonfire party, and then wrote poems with the help of their teachers. Every poem is beautiful, without moaning or affectation, just like the clear spring water in the mountains, clean and sweet.
The headmaster in the film said: "Many teachers question that poetry is not helpful to teaching, and they don't get extra points in exams. What's the point? " Indeed, poetry can't change a person's fate, but it may change a person. "I don't want to take poetry classes in college, but children who have studied poetry won't break the glass.
Maybe some people don't understand, is there a necessary connection between the two? Yes! Poetry gives these left-behind children an outlet to vent their emotions and express their feelings. When they know and fully express their emotions and feelings, they will no longer vent their emotions through destructive venting methods such as smashing people's windows.
Poetry does not pass the college entrance examination, but it can sharpen the soul in reality! A good childhood can cure a lifetime. I believe that with the company of poetry, children's childhood is no longer lonely and their hearts are no longer closed. This is a warm and powerful documentary. I cried more than once when I watched it. It hit the soft part of my heart, which was warm.
