What does the cross mean?

The cross was originally an instrument of torture in ancient Middle East and Europe. The word originated from the Latin Cuox, which means "fork". Because this kind of torture device is mostly made of two pieces of wood, the shape is similar to the Chinese character "ten", which is called "ten" in Chinese.

According to the Bible, Jesus was crucified to save the world. His followers regarded the cross as a symbol of redemption and also a symbol of various Christian sects.

In the Old Testament, the Lord said to Moses, "Make an salamander and hang it on a wooden pole; People bitten by snakes can survive at a glance "(Biblical Household Registration 2 1 Chapter 8);

Jesus Christ said in the New Testament, "As Moses lifted the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man will be lifted up, so that all who believe in him may have eternal life" (John 3: 14- 15).

Jesus said, "He who does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of being mine" (Matthew10: 38); "It turns out that the truth of the cross is that those who are lost are stupid, and those who are saved for us are the virtues of God" (1 Corinthians 1,18); As for me, I only boast about the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, because through Christ, the world has been crucified for me; I was also crucified in the world "(Galatians 6: 14). Therefore, the cross is very important in the process of Christian belief.
