In plastering etiquette, the anointed person (usually male) will stand in the center of the venue with his head completely exposed, and then use a small wooden spoon to smear a special paste (usually made of honey, dates, almonds and other ingredients) from the forehead hairline of the anointed person to the back of his head to show good luck. This process is usually carried out in mosques and presided over by imams or church personnel.
It should be noted that the anointing ceremony is not a ritual for all Muslims, but is only used in some religious occasions, such as a festival to commemorate the night walk of the Prophet Muhammad.
