Half a century has passed since the Long March. What is its historical significance? History shows much more than that. What the Long March left to future generations was priceless spiritual wealth. The hardships and hardships experienced by Chinese Red Army soldiers on the Long March are rare in the world. Their courage and perseverance are the most brilliant examples of excellent human qualities. This will draw infinite inspiration from our descendants, our founding cause and all mankind who are striving for progress and liberation.
The history of our nation is full of magnificent peasant wars, and there are also weeping heroes at any time. However, those hundreds of peasant wars failed again and again, or were replaced by another feudal dynasty. Why did a revolution with farmers as the main body like the Long March win? History has answered that the Long March was led by the modern proletariat, and its incarnation-the Chinese Production Party-has the soul of Marxism–Leninism.
The Long March is a poem in my heart. From the day I joined this army, I have always admired and longed for it. However, because of its extraordinary magnificence, reflecting its thoughts in literature makes me feel ashamed and ignorant, which makes me flinch. Now, with the passage of time, I have to start writing. On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of this heroic and invincible army, I would like to take this rough work as a reward for training our party, army and people.
The Great Long March was completed by the three main forces of the Red Army-the First, Second and Fourth Army. Its content is extremely rich, and it needs many volumes to fully reflect this history. This novel mainly reflects the Central Red Army, so I don't think readers will seek perfection.
Before writing this book, the author visited and consulted many revolutionary predecessors, and made two inspections on the Long March of the Red Army, which was warmly welcomed by comrades and the masses everywhere. At the same time, the author attaches great importance to the personal experience of the Red Army soldiers in those days, and carefully studies and absorbs the materials in their memoirs in his writing. I would like to express my deep gratitude to them.
The martyrs buried on the Long March Road and the living Long March heroes, their spirit and great achievements are immortal!
