Give the poetry collection a name (cover) first, then write the table of contents and preface (or not). Write a few poems you like, meaning, appreciation and comments. Don't need modern poetry. Then write more poems yourself. Of course, you can also add some introductions of your favorite poets. And the story of the poet. If possible, illustrate the poems and write some calligraphy poems.
That's about it. I don't know your teacher's requirements, but our teacher told us to write like this anyway.
