Extended data:

The words "Xijiang Yuejinggangshan" were written at the end of September, 1928. It summed up the revolutionary struggle in the Jinggangshan base area by praising the earth-shattering battle of Huang Yangjie on August 30th, and reflected Chairman Mao's brilliant thought of encircling the city from the countryside and seizing power by armed forces.

This is a hymn to the battle of Huang Yangjie in Jinggangshan, a glorious epic describing the revolutionary struggle in Jinggangshan, and the earliest word in many poems about revolutionary war in Mao Zedong.

In the battle, general Zhu led only one company of soldiers to guard. When the enemy was strong and we were weak, General Zhu gave full play to the intelligence of the working people, moving stones, digging traps, inserting bamboo nails, piling wood and making pine cannons, relying on natural barriers and these "earth fortifications" to resist the enemy.

Successfully repelled the powerful attacks of the two regiments of the Kuomintang, held the main military base of the Red Fourth Front Army, and finally successfully won the victory of defending Huang Yangjie. This campaign not only successfully defended the Jinggangshan base area behind Huang Yangjie, but also created extremely favorable conditions for the return of the main force of the Gongsi Army and the breaking of the enemy's second "encirclement and suppression".

The title of this poem is Jinggangshan, but the content is not to describe the mountain scenery, but to write the key battle of the second anti-"suppression" war between the army and the people in Jinggangshan revolutionary base area-Huang Yangjie Defence War, and enthusiastically praise the victory of the people's armed struggle in Jinggangshan.
