The culture of Zhuchen Village

The poem "Zhuchen Village" by the poet Bai Juyi of the Tang Dynasty made Zhuchen Village famous throughout the country. The poem wrote:

There is a village called Zhuchen in Gufeng County, Xuzhou. Going to the county for more than a hundred miles, the atmosphere is full of mulberry, hemp and green.

The shuttle buzzes and the cows and donkeys move. Women collect water from the stream, while men collect salary from the mountains.

The county is far away and there are few official affairs. The mountains are deep and the people are simple and honest. If you have money, you can't do business; if you have men, you can't join the army.

Every family keeps the village business and never goes out. Live as a citizen of the village and die as the dust of the village.

The old and the young in Tianzhong are so happy to see each other. There are only two surnames in one village, and marriages last for generations.

There are clans when we are close and distant, and there are groups when we travel together when we are young. Yellow chicken and white wine, the joyful meeting is not separated by ten days.

The living are not far away from each other, and when you marry, you are close to your neighbors first. The dead are buried not far away, and many graves circle the village.

Being at peace with life and death, not suffering from physical and spiritual pain. Therefore, if you live a long life, you will often see your great-great-grandson.

I was born in Liyi Township, a young boy who was lonely and poor. Apprentices learn to distinguish right from wrong, only for their own hard work.

Worldly laws value famous religions, and scholars value weddings with crowns. If you use this to fetter yourself, you will be a great fallacy.

I can read books at the age of ten, and I can write at the age of fifteen. At twenty, he was a scholar, and at thirty, he was a remonstrator.

My wife is tired below me, but I have the kindness of my husband above me. It is unworthy of one's body to inherit the family and serve the country.

Recalling the beginning of my trip yesterday, it is now the 15th spring. The lonely boat sailed through Chu three times, and the thin horse sailed through Qin four times.

There is a sense of hunger when walking during the day, and there is no peace of mind when sleeping at night. Things don't stay temporarily, they come and go like floating clouds.

Leaving and losing their hometown, many of their flesh and blood are scattered. Jiangnan and Jiangbei each have their own relatives.

We say goodbye all day long, and hear about the deceased every other year. I lie down worried in the morning until dusk, and sit crying at night until morning.

Sorrow burns the heart, and frost invades the temple roots. Life is so hard, and I always envy the people in the village.

The beautiful Zhuchen Village in Bai Juyi's works was once known as the "Eight Great Scenes of Zhuchen", namely "Turtle Exploring the Source of the River", "Three Pines Converging the Wall", "Wind Cold on the First Floor", and "Treasure". "Jewelry Spring", "Crouching Tiger Rock", "Panlong Mountain Area", "Dingling Ringing Stone", "Jade Belt Sushui". Time has changed, and due to various reasons, there are now only "broken walls" left in the "Eight Zhuchen Scenic Spots". The only scenic spots that can be seen today were rated by the Linyi Municipal Tourism Bureau on June 26, 2006. Baoquan Temple Park, an AA-level tourist area, is famous for its "Pearl Baoquan".
