2 meaning:
Liu Liyuan is an early poem of Ye Zhi. His early poems have beautiful rhythm, delicate feelings, gorgeous rhetoric and rich symbolic meanings, which are obviously influenced by English romanticism and French symbolism poetry.
Liuyuanli was originally named Old Songs and New Singing. Ye Zhi once commented on this poem: "This poem is adapted from three lines of old lyrics of an old peasant woman who often sings alone in Daier Village, Bariseau, sligo County". This poem has the following characteristics.
First of all, this poem is as simple as a folk song and can be sung. Judging from the whole poem, the words used by poets are monosyllabic words and disyllabic words. Only "Sally" may be less common, but this word is of great significance to the expression of feelings in poetry. Willow is related to the sadness in the prototype sense. Its slender branches waver in the wind and rain, just like people's helplessness in the sad wind and rain. In addition, repetition is used to set off the theme in the poem: lovelorn. This repetition is not only the repetition of words (such as young and fool), but also the repetition of sentence patterns. The second section is basically the same as the first section in grammar. There are obvious differences at the end of each section to show that you regret not taking your lover's advice.
Secondly, this poem is unique in the use of tenses. The whole poem is in the past tense except for the second half of the line. This shows that the past is very important to people's present. At the end of the poem, it is meaningful for the poet to use the simple present tense. Although the description of the present situation came to an abrupt end in only five words, because the poet put these words in the most prominent position in the whole poem, it gives people a feeling of wanting more, and readers can be exposed to the vast spiritual world of "I" through a few words.
Thirdly, this poem seems simple, but it reveals the philosophy of life to people: to treat love and life, people should let nature take its course, just like "green leaves grow on branches" and "grass grows on weirs". Otherwise, you will regret for a lifetime because of a moment of "stupidity"
