Geoffrey Chaucer-Canterbury Tales
Chaucer was the earliest representative writer with humanistic thoughts in Britain and the founder of realistic literature, which had a great influence on the later development of English language and literature. In the selected article, the first few lines of the story describe the arrival of spring and the revival of everything in May, which symbolizes the revival of human nature and sets the tone for the story full of humanism. Then Chaucer told us the origin of the story, which paved the way for the appearance of pilgrims. The writing was well rehearsed, closely related and fascinating. Chaucer's poems are based on iambic pentameter, and every two lines rhyme strongly, which is called "League of Heroes". After Chaucer, it replaced the alliteration in old English and was adopted by later poets.
