According to legend, the father of Manglietia amurensis, an ancient Indian monk, was engaged in business all the year round, with numerous mules and horses at home and countless treasures. Her mother, Qingti, hates becoming a monk. Manglietia devotes herself to being a Buddha, a dharma and a monk. When he grew up, he used to go out to do business. When he left, he said to his mother, "Children go out for money, and mothers accumulate virtue and kindness at home, treating monks like children." His mother agreed. Unexpectedly, after Mulian left, his mother was still the same, fiercely driving away all the monks and nuns who came to beg alms, and even refused to give alms after dinner.
Mulian returned to China after half a year. Hearing that his mother was extremely unfriendly to monks, he asked her why. Hearing this, her mother was furious and scolded, "You don't believe your mother? If I mistreat my monk, I will die of natural causes within seven days, and I will fall into A Bi hell when I die! " Seven days later, his mother died suddenly. Mu Lian buried his mother, then abandoned glory and returned to Sakyamuni, where he became a Buddha's arhat and became one of the top ten disciples of the Buddha.
Mu Lian found that her mother really fell into nasal hell after her death. He found his mother who had become a hungry ghost and was suffering in hell. He was so sad that he immediately fed her a bowl of rice. Rice can be turned into charcoal before it is eaten. My eyes are crying. The Tathagata saw the filial piety in his eyes and said to him, "Although you have become an arhat, you can't save your mother alone. You must make all kinds of pots and pans and let the hungry ghosts in the world eat all the food, so that your mother can be saved. "
Therefore, Manglietia asked ten monks to set up a large-scale orchid basin meeting to turn out the hungry ghosts and let their mothers escape from hell.
