The ancient poem "Shan Yu"

Mountain Rain

Song Dynasty: Weng Juan

It was white all night, without clouds or thunder.

Pingming suddenly saw a stream running and knew that it was raining from another mountain.

Translation:

All night, the forest was covered with the brilliance of the stars and the moon; There is not a cloud in the sky, and there is no thunder.

Going out at dawn, I suddenly saw the stream rushing; So, in fact, I know that there was a rainstorm in other mountains, and the water was transferred to this place.

Shan Yu is a seven-character quatrain written by Weng Juan, a poet in the Southern Song Dynasty. The first two sentences of the poem describe the scene before the rain, and the last two sentences describe the scene after the rain. The poem has a unique conception and a strong interest in life, which embodies the poetic characteristics of "Yongjia Four Spirits".

Weng Juan's "Shan Yu" not only describes the wonders of mountains and stars, but also expresses the poet's whimsy. This feeling is not directly expressed, but exists in the scene and is implicitly expressed in the description of the beating scenery.
