"The stars tilt down from the empty place, and the moon runs from the upper reaches of the river." But the official position is really old and sick, and it will stop forever. The above sentence of this couplet, like "the article that has shocked the sea" ("the guest arrives"), is both a word of modesty and a sense of pride. The next sentence, like "People should be dismissed from office" ("Postscript of beginning of autumn"), is ostensibly self-mockery, but in essence it expresses indignation. Du Fu was really old and sick at this time, but he was dismissed mainly because of this, but because he was not appointed.
