Wang Guowei was an outstanding scholar and poet during the Republic of China. He skillfully introduced some basic concepts and ideas of western philosophy in the form of ancient poems in the book "Thorns on the Earth". Through the form of poetry, he integrated the thoughts of western philosophy into his literary works and conveyed these thoughts to readers in a simple way.
