The second volume of Su Shi's Dongpo Inscription and Postscript, Shu Mo Lan Tian Yan Yu Tu, commented on Wang Wei's works in the Tang Dynasty and pointed out: "There are paintings in poetry and poems in paintings." Wang Wei is both a poet and a painter. He is not only good at painting, but also integrates poetry and painting in art. The organic combination of poetry and painting is the tradition and characteristic of Chinese painting.
