Heduohe
Why Heduo River is a salt river with rocky salt fields, also known as Heduo Zaohe River. It starts from Tongyu Canal on the east side of Taicheng in the west and flows into the sea at Chuandong Gate in the east. Dongtai River is the salt river of Dongtai Salt Field, also called Dongtai Changzao River, also called Fried Salt River. The excavation time has not been verified. According to the diagram in Ten Fields of Huainan, in the early Qing Dynasty, Dongtai River started from Taicheng Chuanchang River to the west of Dongtai River, went to Zhangjiatuan River in the east, and the back coast moved eastward, so the river extended eastward, but there was no passage to the sea in the east. In addition, the coastal terrain is high on both sides and low in the middle, so the accumulated water cannot be discharged. In the 29th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1396), the river was dredged. Dredged twice in five years (1740) and twenty years. In the sixth year of Jiaqing (180 1), two vertical branches, Meijiazao and Panjizao, were added to the north bank of Dongtai River.
Laoliangduo River
Historically, it was the salt river of Liangduo saltworks, also known as Liangduo Haihe River and Liangduo Zaohe River. The present Liangduo River is a new east-west river excavated south of the old Liangduo River in the early 1970s.

Dongtai is a tropical maritime climate in North Asia, with four distinct seasons, abundant sunshine and rainfall. Annual average rainfall 1044 mm, annual average temperature 15.6℃, annual sunshine of 2209 hours, and annual average frost-free period of 237 days. Dongtai City belongs to the alluvial plain in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, with sandy soil and soil organic matter content of 1.4%.
Tourism resources are dominated by ecological resources, among which the coastline stretches for 85 kilometers, and the beach resources of more than10.5 million mu are located in Yancheng. Dongtai is located on the coast of the Yellow Sea, where the East China Sea forward wave and the Yellow Sea rotation wave meet. Under the action of tides, the offshore sediment gradually precipitates at the confluence point to form radial sandbars, which grow to the sea, with an annual land area of 6000- 10000 mu, and there are inexhaustible land resources.
The tidal flat outside the city's seawall10.55 million mu, including intertidal zone10.6 million mu and intertidal zone of 390,000 mu, accounting for 22% of the tidal flat area in Jiangsu Province and 37% of the tidal flat area in Yancheng City. Abundant land resources and product resources are new economic growth points for cultivating and developing "Dongtai on the Sea". Large tidal flats also give birth to abundant animal and plant resources. Plants are mainly reed, white thatch, apocynum venetum, Spartina, Metasequoia glyptostroboides and bamboo; Animals include prawn, swimming crab, clam, snail, yellow croaker, pomfret, eel fry, red-crowned crane, black-billed gull and other rare birds.
