Wuzhen is bounded by the river system and divided into four blocks: East Gate, South Gate, West Gate and North Gate. Wuzhen not only shows the extraordinary charm of China ancient culture and the essence of oriental life tradition, but also becomes the disseminator of traditional culture and the messenger of cultural exchange between China and foreign countries. Let me introduce some famous scenic spots here.
The first western mountain in Tashi is the essence of Wuzhen. Although it is a scenic spot dominated by Dongzha, Dongzha has no bustling urban wells. Everything has been renovated and redesigned, and the cafes and bars in the streets are full of literary feelings. Paddling in Tashi at night is a very recommended experience, and the Jiangnan water town in the sound of light and shadow is particularly charming.
Mao Dun's second former residence, located at the corner of Guanqian Street and Xinhua Road in Wuzhen, facing south, is a common traditional wooden structure residential building in southern China. There are two houses before and after, and the three bungalows in the front building are Mao Dun's bedroom, study and reception room. There is a small garden near the house, which is planted with palm trees, Tianzhu, Holly, Sabina vulgaris and vines. Although its study is located in the urban area, it is a quiet place with elegant environment. The latter is a two-story building, which is used outside the kitchen, dining room and living room.
Jiangsu and Zhejiang Third Branch, Jiangnan Branch in Ming Dynasty, is a unique government agency in Wuzhen history. He is responsible for patrolling salt and catching thieves, and also manages local lawsuits, commonly known as Er Fu yamen. It lasted more than 370 years from its establishment in Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty to its cancellation in the early years of the Republic of China.
The fourth Jiangnan Folk Museum Jiangnan Folk Museum is located next to the Jiangnan Hundred Bed Museum, which was originally the former residence of Dongzha Jinshi Family. Now it is divided into clothing customs museum, festival customs museum, marriage customs museum and longevity customs museum. Through wax figures, physical objects and photos, the folk customs of Wuzhen from the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China are shown to tourists, such as birthday etiquette, marriage and childbearing customs, all the year round and so on.
The fifth ancient stage, attached to Taoist temple, was built in the 14th year of Qing Qianlong (1749). The stage covers an area of 204 square meters, facing Guanqian Street of Xiuzhen Temple in the north, Dongshi River in the south and Xinghua Bridge in the east. The platform has two floors and a roof built on the mountain. The ground floor is surrounded by masonry structure with side doors and front doors. The stage is resting on the top of the mountain, with upturned cornices, solemn and elegant.
