Tang Li Zhao's Chronicle of Hanlin: "There is a tile road in front of the North Hall, and five bricks are waiting for it in winter. Li Cheng is lazy. Later, he passed eight bricks, so many people call him' Bachelor of Eight Bricks'. " Wang Song's Tang Yulin Volume 4: "Cheng is a bachelor of Hanlin, and he is waiting for the shadow of the day before yesterday. If you are lazy, you will exceed eight bricks every time you enter, followed by the' Bachelor of Eight Bricks'. " This is also the case in The Biography of Li Cheng in the New Tang Dynasty.
Explanatory usage
Li Cheng, a bachelor of Hanlin in Tang Dynasty, was lazy. He should have entered the value when the shadow of the sun reached the first five bricks in winter, but he didn't enter the value until the shadow of the sun passed the first eight bricks. Later, this code name was used to refer to lazy and unruly people; Also refers to the Hanlin bachelor.
