As long as I firmly believe,
So anything,
Will not stop my progress.
—— July 2009 12
First, why do you want to take the postgraduate entrance examination?
"What kind of person a person can be, what kind of person he should be, and be loyal to his own nature-Maslow" This is the beginning of my personal statement submitted during the second interview at Peking University, and it is also the beginning of my writing this article, because it is this sentence that put me on the road to postgraduate entrance examination.
I have told many friends that I think psychology is really useful, and the process of learning psychology has benefited me wholeheartedly. For example, Eriksson's theory of self-identity Eriksson said that self-identity began to form in high school. If self-identity is not established in adolescence, individuals will enter a period of psychological delay in repayment. -I did enter such a delayed repayment period, which included four years of loneliness and emptiness in college and two years of pain and anxiety after graduation. In this process, I have been trying to answer Maslow's question: What kind of person am I and what kind of person should I be?
I believe many factors played a very important role in the process of finding this answer at last. For example, my experience of success and failure, my many adaptations and maladjustments in the work process, the evaluation of my relatives and friends, the help of some professionals and so on.
When I finally decided to take the postgraduate entrance examination, I clearly knew that I liked psychology, and I hoped to help others in the future.
Second, the preparation before review-March
After I decided to take the postgraduate entrance examination, I did the following work:
1. Collect some information about the postgraduate entrance examination. Mainly in several aspects: the review experience of previous candidates, the master's enrollment information of major universities in China, the outline and real questions of previous psychological examinations, the recommended bibliography of psychology, and some information on the review plan and content. The main sources of information are BBS of postgraduate entrance examination and college enrollment pages.
I signed up for a postgraduate training class. Everyone may have different views on the issue of enrolling in classes. I don't think applying for classes is universal and absolute, and I can only analyze it according to my personal situation. The main reasons why I want to apply for the class are: as an on-the-job candidate with three spans, I feel that I know too little about the information of the postgraduate exam; I believe that the postgraduate entrance examination is actually a psychological protracted war to a great extent, so I need someone to encourage and support me constantly; I think the study effect behind closed doors is very poor for me. I need to communicate and listen to the ideas of teachers and classmates. So I signed up for a training class in Beijing.
3. Buy review materials, including textbooks, tutorials and some English materials. Because the training class helped me buy all the books and send them to me, I didn't pay much attention. The books and materials I use are:
(1) psychology textbook
General Psychology, Contemporary Educational Psychology, Modern Psychology and Education Statistics, Experimental Psychology (Zhang Xuemin), Developmental Psychology (People's Education Press Lin Chongde), Psychology and Education Measurement (Jinan University Press Dai Haiqi), Experimental Psychology (Yang Zhiliang), Personality Psychology, and History of Western Psychology (The History of Western Psychology).
(2) English main materials (some materials were bought during the later review)
People's Congress Press "200 English Reading Articles" and "English Reading Breakthrough Series B"; Hu Min, Higher Education Press, "Ten Years of True Questions Turn Stone into Gold"; Spark English "General Composition for Postgraduate Entrance Examination"; English split and combined translation, enhanced 10 episode, and the last 8 episodes were published by New Oriental Yan Qun Publishing House;
(3) Main political materials (purchased after 10)
Outline analysis, Ren Rufen's "sequence two" and "sequence three"
4. Make a long-term review plan. I like to set goals and write plans before doing anything, because only in this way can I evaluate and monitor my review effect and adjust my review progress in time. Of course, this plan will not be too dead, and it will be gradually improved as I know more about review. I think this is very important. I will tell you my later plans in detail. )
Three months, ten months of closed doors.
I mainly talk about what I have done in the past ten months.
1. Psychological Review
(1) April: Read all the textbooks to understand what psychology needs to learn.
(2) May-65438+April/June: Start with statistics, study three subjects of methods seriously, and ask for notes and exercises.
(3)15/June-14/July: Starting from Tongxin, carefully study three theoretical subjects, organize the knowledge framework and take notes.
(4)15/July-end of August: Theory and method are carried out alternately, and listening to the training class is used as a means to further deepen the understanding of the important and difficult points in the textbook (memory is not required), and the notes of the previous stage are modified and optimized (the notes are all in electronic version).
(5) September: Read the book for the fourth time and complete the first comprehensive memory and retelling of the knowledge points of three theoretical subjects.
(6) 10 month: Read the book for the fourth time, and re-learn, read and consolidate the important and difficult knowledge of the three methods.
(7) 1 1 month: with the help of training courses and reviewed exercise materials, the knowledge points are checked and filled.
(8) 65438+February: Memorize, recite and reproduce the knowledge points of your notes and problem-solving materials.
(9) 1 month: only 8 days, sort out and remember the important and difficult points in the previous notes.
2. English review
(1) April-1May/June, I spent little time in English, mainly memorizing words with New Oriental word memorizing software.
(2) 15/6-30/6, spend little time reviewing senior three grammar.
(3) In July and August, I finished 200 English reading articles by NPC Press at the rate of 4 articles a day, mainly by carefully analyzing mistakes, memorizing new words and summing up the experience in doing the questions.
(4) September: Complete Hu Min's ten-year real topic, with 2-3 episodes per week, focusing on analysis.
(5) 10 month: I found that my previous PARB and composition were very poor, so I concentrated on training PARTB and composition (see above for information).
(6)165438+1October: Continue to train composition and translation, and keep reading English every day, and do the real questions for the second time.
(7) 65438+February: Complete the New Oriental Intensive Exercise 10 set of questions, and recite some short articles every 3 days 1 set.
(8)65438+ 10 month: Only 8 days, complete the "last 8 sets of questions" of New Oriental, 1 set every day.
3. Political commentary
The review of politics began in June 5438+10.
(1) 10 month: Complete the detailed reading of the outline analysis. Take notes and understand the overall knowledge structure. Do the real questions of the first three years at the end of the month and do some analysis.
(2) 1 1 month: complete the second series of Ren Rufen (combined with its online course). Read the outline analysis carefully again.
(3) 65438+February: Ren Rufen series 3 is completed, and the outline is analyzed for the third time, and it will be memorized later.
(4)65438+ 10 month: only 8 days, do the real questions again, read the wrong questions in Ren Rufen's sequence again, and remember the key points.
Fourth, the initial test
First of all, I want to tell you a message. There are 8 candidates in my area who applied for the same major, 4 of whom have never taken the exam. 1 did not appear after the English exam, and 2 of the remaining 3 people finally passed the exam, including me. So, what I want to say is that persistence is victory, and whoever laughs last laughs best.
-The following points are taken from my diary after the June 65438+ 10 exam.
1. Because of carelessness, I made a mistake in a multiple-choice question. "The topic was about the Westernization Movement ... As a result, I chose the option of' bourgeois ...'". Carelessness has always been a serious problem for me.
2. For topics with pure memory, such as current political issues, when the memory is vague, you should trust your intuition or first impression, instead of blindly reasoning or trusting your own logic. (Sometimes implicit memory is sometimes more persistent and difficult to change)
3. There is no comprehensive review of political and psychological factors. Political "morality", when reviewing, clearly knows that it is a weakness, but thinks that it will not be tested and easily let go; The "nonparametric analysis of variance" of psychology has never been seen at all, because it has always been thought that it will not be tested. The reason for this dead corner is that my review is not in place, and I didn't clean up the "dead corner" when I finished it. (Don't take chances in the postgraduate entrance examination, it's best not to press the question! )
Puxin's short answer is simple, but I can't answer it well. The reason is that we usually pay attention to those complicated and difficult theories, but ignore some simple and basic concepts, or because we think we have roughly understood them and let them go, without seriously summing up our memories. Basic concepts and theories are very important for interdisciplinary students! )
English is a big problem. First of all, I can't adapt to the examination environment suddenly because I usually do the questions in a very quiet situation and the doors and windows are closed. Secondly, this big composition is likely to be judged as "off topic" by the teacher. If that's the case, I'll suffer a big loss. (Remember what Pu Xin said about learning style? Be careful ~)
V. After the initial test
After the initial test, I was actually quite uneasy. I think my politics and major should be fine, and I'm worried about whether I can pass English. Who knows, I was surprised when the result came out. My estimate of the total score is not bad, but my estimate of specialized courses and English is about 20 points higher and 20 points lower respectively. Everyone says that the examination papers for specialized courses in Beijing may be stricter, and I may have underestimated my English ability myself. But everyone's English seems to be low this year. I should be lucky. (PS: The reason why my English score is relatively low is because I believed the so-called standard answer of a training institution on the Internet, which worried me for a while! Therefore, don't trust online answers easily in the future. Those answers are also made by people, and the people who may do them are not so good. )
Worry is worry. After the initial test, you must do some things:
1. Actively contact the tutor. Contact the tutor must pay attention to the sense of proportion and rhythm, don't ask questions that shouldn't be asked, and don't force the teacher and disturb him too often. Personally, I think it is enough for most people to send an email to the teacher when they register, after the exam and after the preliminary test results come out. Of course, the method and frequency should be adjusted according to the teacher's tone and attitude. In short, making teachers feel comfortable is the most important thing to remember, and don't be self-defeating.
2. Read more professional books. Read more relevant books, papers of various tutors, the latest research trends, etc. According to my major. Especially the teacher's papers, try to read more and learn more about individual topics.
3. Prepare relevant re-examination materials. The materials that need to be provided during the second interview of Peking University generally include personal statements, undergraduate transcripts stamped with red seals, and online download registration forms. In addition, you should prepare self-introduction in Chinese and English and some necessary questions (such as why do you want to take the exam? What about the undergraduate thesis? ) answer, etc.
Sixth, the second interview
Full preparation, self-confidence and sincerity are what I want to emphasize. Be fully prepared, including the research direction, the papers and works published by your various tutors, personal introduction in Chinese and English, and the answers to the questions that must be asked in the interview. Psychological re-examination experiments are particularly important, and it is best to prepare some experiments designed by yourself. Self-confidence is based on the positive evaluation of one's research motivation, research ability and research and work prospects, and shows maturity, thoughtfulness and composure in the interview process. Sincerity is a modest, practical and realistic attitude, saying what you know and saying what you don't understand.
Seven, after the postgraduate entrance examination.
Knowing that I have passed the exam, there is no joy in imagination, no celebration, no travel … only a new starting point. Three years of graduate life, what do you want to do, what kind of goals you want to achieve, what to do after graduation, how to plan your precious time in these three years ... many questions need my serious consideration. In fact, everything goes back to my first thought when I took the postgraduate entrance examination: I don't study because of study, I don't take the postgraduate entrance examination because of postgraduate entrance examination, I don't take the postgraduate entrance examination because of famous schools and diplomas; I went to study psychology because I like it, and I went to graduate school because I want to work in psychology in the future.
So, the road has just begun. ...
