The battle of crossing the river, also known as the battle of Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou, lasted 42 days. At the cost of more than 60,000 casualties, the People's Liberation Army annihilated more than 430,000 Kuomintang troops with 1 1 military headquarters and 46 divisions.
The liberation of Nanjing, Shanghai, Wuhan and other big cities, as well as Jiangsu and Anhui provinces, most of Zhejiang Province and one of Jiangxi, Hubei and Fujian provinces, created important conditions for the later liberation of East China and the March into South China and Southwest China. The activity started on April 2 1949 and ended on June 2 1949.

Memorial Hall of the Battle of Crossing the River:
On June 26, 2008, the memorial hall of the Battle of Crossing the River was officially started on the shore of Chaohu Lake in Binhu New District, Hefei City, Anhui Province. The construction land area of this project is about 220,000 square meters, and the main building area of the memorial hall is about 20,000 square meters. The proposed site protrudes from Chaohu Lake in a peninsula shape, just like a giant warship braving the wind and waves. The memorial hall was officially opened on April 20 12.
Victory Memorial Hall for Crossing the River:
1In April, 984, the Victory Memorial Hall of Crossing the River was established in the tower of Yijiangmen. In April 2009, in order to commemorate the victory of crossing the river and the 60th anniversary of Nanjing's liberation, the Nanjing Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government built a new memorial hall for the victory of crossing the river on the banks of the Yangtze River and the estuary of Qinhuai River.
Du Jiang Victory Memorial Hall consists of the main building area, Victory Square, Victory Monument and yi river Tower, with a total area of 20,000 square meters, a building area of about 9,000 square meters and an exhibition hall area of more than 4,000 square meters.
