Ecology of China is an arrangement and development of ancient ecology in China by using the concepts and research results of modern ecology. It is an ecological science system re-established on the basis of inheriting the achievements of China's ancient ecological thought. "China Ecology" and "Ecology" are closely related and different, and they are new scientific theoretical systems. "China Ecology" is an ecological theory with China's characteristics, and it is the promotion, application and expansion of China's ancient ecological theory. Due to the special background of China culture, its unique concept system and way of thinking endow "China Ecology" with a new theoretical form. She has some new ideas and scientific concepts different from today's "ecology", and has unique scientific theory and model method, which is expected to open up new application fields and application values for "ecology", promote the development of ecological theory, expand the research scope of ecology and further improve its scientific status.
We believe that the theoretical thinking differences between Chinese and western cultures are mainly embodied in the theory of vitality and atomism, while the biggest advantage of China traditional culture and China traditional science is the holistic thought. The unique ideological advantages of China culture and the unique research methods of ancient China science are the theoretical basis for us to establish "China Ecology".
"Tao" and "Qi" are the basic concepts of China culture and reflect the core ideas of China culture, but their scientific significance has not been well explained. "One yin and one yang are the Tao" and "those who are angry are also the Tao", which is the definition of the ancients. On the basis of predecessors, we point out that the concepts of "Tao" and "Qi" are not only philosophical issues, but also ecological principles. Revealing its scientific basis, giving it a scientific definition and demonstrating its scientific significance (see Chapter 4) is the core issue of China's ecology and a theoretical breakthrough. We believe that "Tao" means "entirety" and "truth" means "integrity principle", which is the basic theory and scientific method to grasp the universe, nature, life, ecology, society and life as a whole. Qi is energy and information, and the theory of vitality based on the concept of Qi has important scientific significance, just like the atomism in the history of western thought and culture. Atomism is a mechanistic thought, vitality is a holism, atomism embodies a static analytical thought, and vitality embodies a dynamic comprehensive thought. "Primitive energy" theory is an ecological view (formerly "organic holistic view"), while "atomism" is a non-ecological physical view. We regard the theory of vitality, holism and orthodoxy as the basic theories of China's ecology (Chapter 5), which is a preliminary ecological study of the scientific connotations of Tao and Qi. According to the theoretical characteristics of China's ecology, the conceptual system of China's ecology is integrated. The fourth chapter discusses some important features of ancient Chinese and ancient science in China by analyzing the concepts of Five Elements and Eight Diagrams, focusing on the pattern features and scientific significance of basic concepts such as "Jin Mu", "Shanshui" and "Gankun".
In contemporary life sciences, molecular biology and ecology represent two main directions. Genomics and protein omics are the core of current molecular biology revolution, while system ecology is the core of ecological revolution. The principle of wholeness advocated by China in ancient times is the core idea of modern ecology. The "subversive" characteristics of modern ecology mean that its influence on human beings is far-reaching. From the holistic characteristics of life, only from the ecological point of view can we truly understand the essence of life. (Chapter II). However, both modern ecology and life science are in an extremely serious dilemma. The profound contradiction between reductionism and holism and the deep-rooted traditional influence of mechanism in scientific methodology make it difficult for us to understand the essence of life. Therefore, it is urgent to establish a truly scientific theoretical method of "system theory" and "holism" (Chapter II). As we all know, "TCM" is a typical holism, which is the advantage of China's ancient scientific method. The book has widely applied the holism in China's ancient science, and its unique scientific method and model method are sharp tools for China's ecological analysis.
China's ecological observation and ecological thought have a very long historical tradition. In many aspects, ecological thought permeates China's classical poems and paintings, and ecological problems are very prominent. For example, we have more discussions about poetry in the eighth chapter, which shows the special influence of ancient ecological thought on China literature and endows it with unique scientific connotation and value. The ancient ecology of China is the immortal soul of China culture. The ecological nature of China culture has added infinite imagination and eternal ideological vitality to China people. The vitality of China's traditional culture is the fundamental reason for the enduring culture of China, and it is also the internal motive force of the Chinese nation.
China has special geographical and climatic characteristics, backed by the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the roof of the world, facing the world's largest ocean, with vast grasslands, rivers and plains suitable for farming, tropical, subtropical and temperate forests that raise rare birds and animals, and a typical and powerful stable monsoon, which closely links spring, summer, autumn and winter with the southeast and northwest, with a cold snap, wind and rain at any time, the sun and the moon pushing each other, the four seasons alternating, the mountains and rivers undulating and the sun shining together. " This is the background of Yin-Yang Theory, Five Elements Theory, Eight Diagrams Theory and Zhouyi. There are obvious ecological differences in all directions, five elements and Kyushu, which provide observation objects and thinking basis for the establishment of yin-yang five elements model and yin-yang gossip model.
