"Ten Talented Scholars in Dali" is often called Taige Poet or Beijing Poet, and ranks as one of the three groups of poets in Dali poetry circle along with local official poets in the south of the Yangtze River and foreign poets. The appearance of "Dali poetic style" also marks the transformation of the Tang Dynasty from the prosperous Tang Dynasty to the middle Tang Dynasty.
The most complete and earliest record of the main names of "Ten Talents in Dali Period" should be found in the Book of the New Tang Dynasty written by Ouyang Xiu and Song Qi in the Northern Song Dynasty. In his Biography of Literature and Art, it is recorded that: Lun and Ji Zhongfu, Han Yi, Qian Qi, Sikong Shu, Miao Fa, Cui Yong, Geng Kun.
